Apple Crisp

6 cups sliced, peeled apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 cup rolled oats (oatmeal)
¾ cup flour
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
½ cup butter, softened

Heat oven to 375º. Place apples in ungreased 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with cinnamon, water and lemon juice. In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients; mix with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples. Bake at 375. for 25-35 minutes or until fruit is tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm with cream, ice cream or whipped cream. Makes 12 servings. (One of Melinda's neighbors brought this to her after the twins were born.)
